MedTech Color Welcomes Katrina H. Holland as the Organization’s Inaugural Executive Director

MedTech Color has appointed Katrina H. Holland as its first full-time Executive Director. Ms. Holland brings over 25 years of experience in executive leadership in association management. Before this role, she served as the Chief Executive Officer of the American College of Nurse-Midwives, a $5M professional membership organization, where she also spearheaded major strategic shifts focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Katrina’s twenty-five-year career has spanned multiple professions. She is an active mentor and advocate for diverse up-and-coming C-Suite Executives.

"I am honored to be selected as the inaugural Executive Director of MedTech Color, an organization whose mission aligns with my core personal and professional values. Advancing health equity by inspiring innovation and supporting professional development, MedTech Color is building a strong community that improves health outcomes for diverse patient populations."

MTC’s Board of Directors voted unanimously to appoint Ms. Holland as MedTech Color’s next Executive Director. The organization has been growing for the past seven years with outstanding collaborative work from its founder, Kwame Ulmer, and MTC’s leadership team.

Kwame, who’s a venture partner at Wavemaker Three-Sixty Health – the leading Southern-California-based, early-stage venture capital firm focused on the healthcare industry, has been a driving force behind the organization’s efforts to achieve fundraising goals to implement and expand MTC’s programs and operations. His twenty years of experience evaluating medical technologies in the government and private sector and serving in senior operating roles at medical device companies have made him a trusted convener of industry leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs.

“Ms. Holland is the exact person we need to lead us and take MedTech Color to the next level. She has the necessary experience as a nonprofit professional to help us reach our core objectives to build community, drive thought leadership, and support the next 100 CEOs of color in Medtech,” said Kwame, MTC’s Founder and Board Member.

Katrina H. Holland joins MedTech Color at a pivotal moment in the organization’s strategic planning. So far, with the support of MTC’s founding members and a team of committed professionals, the nonprofit has invested in 30 companies led by people of color, lowered barriers for African American women to enroll in clinical trials, and built a network of over 4,000 persons aligned with MedTech Color’s mission. The organization’s programs, initiatives, industry partnerships, and events reflect the need to continue to elevate innovation while advancing opportunities for professional development in Medtech.
